In the year 2010 I, in collaboration with some of my friends, formed a theatre group – ‘Sangharam’. The first production of Sangharam, Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘Guru’, was directed by me. This production is still active in proscenium and non-proscenium formats.
Then in 2015 November I directed a play ‘Choumatha’, a musical collage of four stories, produced under Sangharam.
Currently I am planning to direct a short play ‘Udorniti’, translated from play ‘Out At Sea’ by Slaomir Morzek (translation by Pratik Dutta), followed by a longer production ‘Pontu Laha 2.0’ to be directed by me again. It is Nihar Bhattacharya’s Bengali adaptation of ‘Mr. Puntila and his Man Matti’ by Bertolt Brecht. The text is modified for our play by Pratik Dutta and myself.
